Men’s and Women’s Soccer Developmental Championship Preview

GREENVILLE, S.C.The inaugural Conference Carolinas Men’s and Women’s Soccer Developmental Championships will take place on Monday, Oct. 25 in Wilson, North Carolina. 
 
The event, which is a unique championship opportunity for developmental teams within Conference Carolinas, is being hosted by Barton College. The men’s tournament will be held at Truist Stadium on the campus of Barton while the women will play at Gillette Stadium in Wilson. 
 
The women’s event will be a 7-v-7 tournament features Barton, Belmont Abbey and North Greenville in a round robin format that will feature a point system to determine a champion.
 
The men’s tournament features Barton and Belmont Abbey in the first semifinal at 12 p.m. followed by Mount Olive and North Greenville in the second semifinal at 2 p.m. The consolation match will take place at 4 p.m. with the championship to follow at 6 p.m.

Earlier this fall Conference Carolinas announced that a developmental championship will be held in men’s and women’s soccer, men’s basketball and baseball. The developmental teams will be composed of student-athletes that have either not competed at the varsity level in 2021-22 or have competed sparingly at the varsity level by the time of the championship.
