Makenna Pallozzi of Belmont Abbey Captures Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Makenna Pallozzi of Belmont Abbey has been named the Conference Carolinas Runner of the Week for women’s cross country for the week ending Oct. 3.
A sophomore from Belmont, North Carolina, Pallozzi won a collegiate event for the first time in her career as she captured individual honors at the Koala Cross Country Classic.
Pallozzi covered the 6K course in 23:16.5, which was nearly 10 seconds faster than the runner-up. The time was a personal-best and third-fastest in school history. She also helped lead the Crusaders to a second-place team finish.
