Five Conference Carolinas Institutions Earn NFCA Scholar-Team Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) released the 2021 Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes and Scholar-Teams on Tuesday afternoon and Conference Carolinas had five institutions and 62 student-athletes earn the recognition.
Chowan led the way with a 3.697 grade-point average and 15 student-athletes recognized. The Hawks finished with the 12th-best team GPA. Lees-McRae was second in the conference with a 3.65 GPA and tied Mount Olive (3.483) with 14 student-athletes on the list. Conference newcomers Francis Marion (3.377, 13 student-athletes) and UNC Pembroke (3.266, six student-athletes) rounded out the conference honors.

Overall, a record 8,800 student-athletes earned recognition, which marks the second consecutive year the program surpassed the 8,000-plus plateau. The team rankings and individual honors are submitted by member head coaches and recognize the academic prowess of softball teams across the Association's membership categories. NCAA Division II had 1,727 honorees.
