Conference Carolinas Making a Statement in National and Regional Rankings

GREENVILLE, S.C. Conference Carolinas has had a successful start to the fall campaign with seven teams ranked in their respective region or national polls in the sports of men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s swimming. 

Chowan men’s soccer program which is ranked 21st in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAA DII Men’s Soccer National Poll. The Hawks are 7-2-0 on the season and are currently ranked third in the Southeast Region Poll. Mount Olive joined Chowan in the regional rankings as they are ninth with a 7-3-0 mark. On the women’s side of the pitch, UNC Pembroke is eighth in the Southeast with a 6-3-0 record while Mount Olive is 10th at 10-0-2. The full rankings are available here

On the course, Emmanuel men’s cross country leads all conference institutions with a sixth-place ranking in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region rankings. They are joined by conference foes Mount Olive (8th) and UNC Pembroke (9th). The national rankings can be viewed here with regional rankings located here

UNC Pembroke is the lone women’s program in the rankings and they are eighth in the region. The women’s national poll is here while the regional rankings are available here.

In the SwimCloud men’s swimming rankings on Monday, Oct. 4, Emmanuel leads the way in sixth. They are followed by Lees-McRae (14th), Barton (20th), Salem (25th) and King (27th). On the women’s side, UNC Pembroke leads Conference Carolinas teams in eighth. Joining the Braves in the top 20 are Lees-McRae (14th), Emmanuel (16th) and Barton (18th). The four other ranked programs are Converse (28th), King (29th), Chowan (32nd) and Salem (36th). Full rankings are available here
