Conference Carolinas Announces 2021 Women’s Volleyball Championship Bracket

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Francis Marion and North Greenville captured division titles and the No. 1 seeds in the 2021 Fall Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Championship which gets underway on Saturday, Nov. 13.
The Patriots earned the East division title, their first-ever in Conference Carolinas, with a 3-2 win over UNC Pembroke on the final day of the regular season on Wednesday night. With a 15-2 league mark, Francis Marion advances to the championship semifinals which will be held at King in Bristol, Tennessee on Friday, Nov. 19.
The Crusaders will join them in Bristol as they captured the West division title with a 14-4 record. They also needed to win their final match of the regular season to secure the crown. This is North Greenville’s third regular-season title and second consecutive after they captured the 2021 Spring trophy.
FMU will play at 5 p.m. in the first semifinal with NGU to follow at 7:30 p.m.
UNC Pembroke and Emmanuel claimed the No. 2 seeds in the East and West divisions, respectively. The Braves, who finished with a 14-3 conference mark, will host the winner of the West seeds 3-5 on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. while the Lions (13-5) will host the winner of the East seeds 3-5 at the same time.
King and Mount Olive earned the right to host the first two rounds of the tournament as they are the three seeds in their respective divisions. King finished conference play 10-8 and will host Erskine and Lees-McRae. The Trojans earned the three seed in the East in a tiebreaker with Belmont Abbey thanks to an earlier win over Francis Marion. Mount Olive went 9-8 in league action and will host Belmont Abbey and Barton.
In the East, Erskine (7-11) and Lees-McRae (7-11) will square off at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13 with the winner facing the host Tornado at 5 p.m. Erskine is the No. 4 seed via a 1-1 record against King this season.
In the West, Belmont Abbey (9-8) and Barton (6-11) will also play at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Mount Olive, North Carolina with the winner facing the host Trojans at 4:30 p.m. The fourth-seeded Crusaders and fifth-seeded Bulldogs split the season series with each team taking four sets while Belmont Abbey split a pair with Mount Olive.
