FLORENCE, S.C. – UNC Pembroke pitched their second shutout of the 2021 Fall Conference Carolinas Women’s Soccer Championship to claim the tournament crown in their return to Conference Carolinas as they downed top-seeded Mount Olive 3-0 at the Florence Soccer Complex on Sunday evening.

The Braves, who lost to the Trojans 2-1 earlier this season, scored early and often en route to the victory. In the 12th minute, Ashleigh Harris sent a ball across the front of the goal and found the foot of tournament MVP Alexis Pittman for the 1-0 lead. Conference Carolinas women’s soccer Offensive Player of the Year Rilee Seering netted her 14th goal of the season in the 35th minute as Harris again found her teammate in front of the net and Seering finished it off for a 2-0 advantage.

In the second half, the Braves put the game away in the 77th minute as Seering sent in a cross to Pittman who added her second of the game, eighth on the season, for the final tally.

The Braves outshot the Trojans 23-9 in the contest with 12 on frame to Mount Olive’s three while UNCP attempted eight of the game’s 15 corner kicks.
