Rankings Update: Conference Carolinas Regional and National Polls

GREENVILLE, S.C. With conference championships underway and winter sports getting started, Conference Carolinas continues to have a strong presence across both regional and national polls in several sports.

With the Conference Carolinas Women’s Volleyball Championship semifinals scheduled to get underway at 5 p.m. tonight at King University in Bristol, Tennessee, the top team in the East division, Francis Marion, will enter with a Southeast Region ranking. The Patriots are 10th in the latest rankings.

The first regular-season Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Women’s Basketball Poll was released earlier this week and Barton is receiving votes and ranked fourth in the Southeast Region while Belmont Abbey is ranked eighth in the region. The full poll is here.

In the men’s basketball D2SIDA Preseason Poll UNC Pembroke jumped to fourth in the Southeast Region while Emmanuel was seventh, King was ninth and Belmont Abbey received votes. The polls can be found here

In the pool, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America released its Division II November Poll and Emmanuel men’s swimming climbed two spots to No. 23 while UNC Pembroke women received votes. The polls can be seen here

In the SwimCloud men’s swimming top-50 dual rankings on Wednesday, Nov. 17, Emmanuel is ranked 15th with 633.40 points, Lees-McRae is 47th (554.10) and Barton is 50th (536.40). On the women’s side, UNC Pembroke leads Conference Carolinas teams in 38th with 579.05 points with Emmanuel is 41st (564.40), Lees-McRae in 43rd (556.70), and Barton is 49th (533.25). In the Nov. 19 Bushnell Golf Golfweek Men’s Golf Coaches’ Poll Erskine ranked 19th with 103 votes while Belmont Abbey was 20th with 99. The full rankings are available here.
