RESULTS | SAINT LEO, Fla. – Joshua Chepkesir of UNC Pembroke was the lone Conference Carolinas student-athlete to earn the right to compete at the 2021 NCAA Division II Men’s Cross Country Championships at The Abbey Golf Course in Saint Leo, Florida and he did not disappoint.

The Conference Carolinas Runner of the Year, Chepkesir finished in eighth place at the championships to become the fourth men’s cross country All-American in league history. Chepkesir posted a time of 30:39.5.

The eighth-place finish is the second-highest finish in Conference Carolinas history behind only Michael Crouch of Queens (N.C.) who won the 2010 national championship. He’s also the first All-American for the conference since 2017 when Mount Olive had a pair of student-athletes earn the honor.
