Jami Tham and Shanika Peterkin of Barton Named Women’s Basketball Weekly Award Winners
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Jami Tham and Shanika Peterkin of Barton have earned the weekly honors in Conference Carolinas women’s basketball for the week ending Nov. 28.
Tham was selected as the Player of the Week, while Peterkin earned Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
Tham, a senior center from Arlington, Virginia, was the Conference Carolinas women’s basketball Defensive Player of the Week last week. She tallied a monster double-double this week with 25 points and 17 rebounds to lead the Bulldogs to an 80-50 victory over Fayetteville State last Tuesday on the road. Tham currently leads the team in points (18.5 ppg) and rebounds (11.3 rpg). Barton is 4-0 on the year and ranked No. 21 in NCAA Division II.
A senior center from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Peterkin tallied 19 points, seven rebounds (five defensive), four blocks and two steals in the Bulldogs' win over Fayetteville State. Peterkin was the league’s women’s basketball Player of the Week last week.
