Åasmund Norum of King Selected Men’s Golf Freshman of the Month for October
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Åasmund Norum of King has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for men’s golf for October of 2021.
A native of Inderoy, Norway, Norum was the No. 2 finisher for the Tornado at a pair of tournaments in the month. He finished 46th at the Queens Fall Invitational after shooting a 54-hole career-low 215 as he improved each round with scores of 73-72-70. He also placed 27th at the Donald Ross Intercollegiate after shooting 218 with scores of 76, 75 and a career-best 67.
Conference Carolinas recently announced the addition of the Freshman of the Month award for all sports beginning this fall.
Each month, the conference office will select a freshman student-athlete who has excelled in competition. Each sport will have a student-athlete honored during their regular season of competition.
