Conference Carolinas Cross Country Teams to Compete at NCAA Southeast Regional

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The 2021 NCAA Division II Cross Country Southeast Regional hosted by Converse University and Spartanburg Convention & Visitors Bureau in Spartanburg, South Carolina is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Roger Milliken Center.
 
In the women’s 6,000m race, UNC Pembroke enters the event ranked eighth in the latest United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Southeast Region rankings after finishing as runner-up at the Conference Carolinas Cross Country Championship by one point. 
 
Conference champion Emmanuel leads the Conference Carolinas men’s programs as they enter the race ranked sixth in the Southeast Region with UNC Pembroke ranked ninth. 
 
The women’s 6,000m race will begin at 8:30 a.m. and will be followed by the men’s 10,000m race at 9:45 a.m. Live results will be available at timinginc.com

The regional meet is a qualifying event for the championship finals. The top three teams at each of the eight regional championships will automatically advance to the championship finals while 10 at-large teams will be selected by the NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Committee for a total of 34 teams.

In addition to team qualifications, the top two individuals who are not part of a qualifying team will automatically advance to the championship finals. All individuals who finish in the top five at the regional meet and are not part of a qualifying team will earn a bid to the championship finals and eight individuals will be selected as at-large qualifiers. 

The championship finals will take place on Saturday, Nov. 20 at The Abbey Course in Saint Leo, Florida. The official qualifiers will be released on Monday, Nov. 11 at 5 p.m.
