Rhys Halcrow of King Named Freshman of the Month for Men’s Tennis for October

GREENVILLE, S.C. - Rhys Halcrow of King has been named the Freshman of the Month for men’s tennis for October of 2021.
 
A freshman from Portland, England, Halcrow closed out the fall portion of King’s 2021-22 schedule a perfect 3-0 in singles and doubles.
 
Playing at No. 2 singles, Halcrow secured a 6-2, 6-0 win over Dominic Hoffman of UVA Wise to start the fall. He followed that up by collecting a 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 victory over Nathan Smiley of Milligan. He finished out the month in singles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Archer Marlow of Emory & Henry.
 
Playing at No. 2 doubles with Pedro Laydner, the duo started the month by securing a 6-1 win over Jake Ferner and Hoffman of UVA Wise. The doubles team then bested Carter Rigsby and Marcos Moreno of Milligan, 7-5. The tandem ended the month in doubles play by downing Brandon McGuire and Corey Garrity of Emory & Henry, 6-1.
