Anna Grossheim of UNC Pembroke Selected Women's Soccer Freshman of the Month for October

GREENVILLE, S.C. Anna Grossheim of UNC Pembroke has been selected as the Conference Carolinas Freshman of the Month for women's soccer for October of 2021. 
 
A native of Garner, North Carolina, Grossheim had an incredible month as she tallied 18 points across nine games on seven goals and four assists. She scored two goals in three separate matches and had a pair of assists in two others. She netted the game-winning goal in a win over Chowan on Oct. 6 and the game-tying goal in a two-goal performance against Emmanuel on Oct. 16. Grossheim tallied a team-best 45 shots, 24 on goal, in the month and averaged 78.6 minutes per game.

The Braves went 8-1 in the month and secured the No. 2 seed in the Conference Carolinas women’s soccer championship. 
 
Conference Carolinas recently announced the addition of the Freshman of the Month award for all sports beginning this fall. 

Each month, the conference office will select a freshman student-athlete who has excelled in competition. Each sport will have a student-athlete honored during their regular season of competition.
