Brianna Warren of UNC Pembroke and Sarah Kirk of Barton Collect Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Brianna Warren of UNC Pembroke and Sarah Kirk of Barton have collected the weekly honors for Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball for the week ending Nov. 7.
Warren was selected as the Player of the Week for the third time this season, while Kirk was chosen as the Specialist of the Week.
A junior middle blocker from Indian Trail, North Carolina, Warren finished UNC Pembroke’s three wins last week hitting .444 while also collecting 35 kills and 12 total blocks. Warren averaged 3.18 kills and 1.09 blocks per set. In UNC Pembroke’s win over Chowan on Nov. 2, Warren finished with eight kills, four blocks and one dig while hitting .333. She followed that up with 16 kills, five blocks, three digs and one service ace while hitting .500 in a victory over King on Nov. 5. Warren’s week came to a close with a 11 kills, six assists, three blocks and three digs in a victory over Lees-McRae on Nov. 6. Warren ended the win over Lees-McRae hitting .476.
A senior setter from Pearland, Texas, Kirk averaged 34 assists and 20 digs per match in two wins last week for Barton. She posted a double-double in both victories. In Barton’s win over Converse on Nov. 5, Kirk had 44 assists to go along with 24 digs. Kirk closed out her week with 24 assists and 16 digs in a win over Southern Wesleyan on Nov. 6. She also had three blocks and three kills on the week.
