GREENVILLE, S.C.  - Conference Carolinas has unveiled its 2021 fall women’s soccer all-conference honors as chosen by the league’s head coaches.

Rilee Seering of UNC Pembroke was named the Offensive Player of the Year in Conference Carolinas. A senior from Waxhaw, North Carolina, Seering tied for the Conference Carolinas lead in goals in conference play with 10 and led all players in points per game with 2.40 as she tallied 24 points on 10 goals and four assists. Overall, Seering tallied 12 goals to tie for the conference lead and 29 points in 14 games, the best points per game mark in the league at 2.07.

A senior from Port-of-Spain, Trinidad, Shaunalee Govia collected her third consecutive Defensive Player of the Year honor (2019, Spring 2021, Fall 2021). The leader on the backline for the Trojans, Govia led a defense that allowed nine goals in 16 games, a .56 average per contest. In addition, she finished second in the conference with seven assists on the season. Govia is the first since the implementation of the award in 2012 to win the honor more than once.

Anna Grossheim of UNC Pembroke took home Freshman of the Year honors. A freshman from Garner, North Carolina, Grossheim matched teammate Seering for the conference lead in goals and led all players with seven assists in conference play for a league-best 27 points. The first-year midfielder finished the 16-game regular season with 11 goals, which tied for third in the league and a conference-best eight assists. Her 30 points on the year were the most in the league. Grossheim is one of two players to earn Conference Carolinas Offensive Player of the Week honors twice this season.

Lees-McRae head coach Cally Morrill was named Coach of the Year after she led the Bobcats to the No. 4 seed in the conference tournament with an 8-2-2 league mark, 11-4-2 overall.  Lees-McRae was picked to finish seventh in the 2021 fall preseason after winning just one conference match in 2019. After winning four such games in the spring of 2021, Morrill and Lees-McRae continued their remarkable turnaround in the fall of 2021. This is Morrill’s second Coach of the Year honor (2011, Fall 2021) and it’s the third time a Bobcats head coach has earned the award (Renee Lopez, 2009).
