Rankings Update: Conference Carolinas Well Represented in Weekly Polls
GREENVILLE, S.C. – As Conference Carolinas programs head into the Christmas break, highlighted by the NCAA Division II “Live in the Balance” week, the league continues to be well represented in regional and national polls.
The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association released the fifth Division II Top 25 regular-season poll of the 2021-22 season and Barton moved into a tie for 23rd with 64 points. In the Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Women’s Basketball Poll Barton is fifth in the Southeast Region with 28 points just ahead of Mount Olive who is tied for sixth with 23 points. In the men’s basketball D2SIDA Preseason Poll UNC Pembroke climbed to No. 22 with 54 points in the national ranking and was third in the Southeast Region with 42 points. Emmanuel is sixth with 20 points while Lees-McRae continued to receive votes in the region. The D2SIDA polls can be found here.
Collegiate Baseball released the Division II Preseason Poll on Dec. 21 and four Conference Carolinas institutions were mentioned, led by Mount Olive at No. 25 with 555 points. North Greenville was ranked 31st with 540 points while UNC Pembroke and Francis Marion both received votes. The full poll can be found here.
