Britney Augustin and Zai Fraser of Lees-McRae Selected Women’s Indoor Track & Field Weekly Award Winners
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Britney Augustin and Zai Fraser of Lees-McRae have been selected as the first weekly award winners of the 2021-22 season for Conference Carolinas women’s indoor track & field for the week ending Dec. 6.
Augustin was tabbed as the Track Athlete of the Week, while Fraser was chosen as the Field Athlete of the Week.
A senior from North Port, Florida, Augustin broke the Lees-McRae indoor records in both the 55-meter dash and the 300-meter dash at the Appalachian State Open last weekend. Her time of 7.19 in the 55-meter dash - if converted to the 60-meter dash - is the fastest mark in Conference Carolinas this season. She also posted one of the top times in Conference Carolinas this season in the 300-meter dash with a time of 40.75.
A sophomore from Pensacola, Florida, Fraser collected an NCAA provisional mark and broke her own school record in the triple jump with a mark of 12.47 meters at the Appalachian State Open. The distance leads all of NCAA Division II so far this season.
