Cas Kopmels and Joshua Faison of Mount Olive Earn Men’s Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Cas Kopmels and Joshua Faison of Mount Olive have garnered the weekly awards for Conference Carolinas men’s indoor track & field.
 
Kopmels was named the Track Athlete of the Week, while Faison was selected as the Field Athlete of the Week.
 
A freshman from Leiden, Netherlands, Kopmels secured the top time in Conference Carolinas in the 800 meters this past weekend with a time of 1:56.21 at the VMI Winter Classic. He also picked up the top time in the 5000 meters in Conference Carolinas at the event with a time of 14:46.44.
 
A sophomore from Raleigh, North Carolina, Faison set a new school record and posted the best mark in Conference Carolinas this season in the shot put at 15.59m at the VMI Winter Classic.
