Pali Smith and Hope Sanborn of Lees-McRae Collect Women's Soccer Weekly Awards
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Pali Smith and Hope Sanborn of Lees-McRae have earned the weekly honors for Conference Carolinas women's soccer.
Smith was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Sanborn collected Defensive Player of the Week honors.
A junior forward from Asheville, North Carolina, Smith scored twice in the 2-1 season-opening win for Lees-McRae over Barton. Smith scored her first on a penalty kick in the first half before netting her second off an assist from Averee Andrew eight minutes in the second half.
A senior goalkeeper from Monroe, North Carolina, Sanborn finished with six saves in the win over Barton.
