ROCK HILL, S.C. - Belmont Abbey's Camrynn Aiello and Julianna Smith have been recognized by both the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and the South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Field Hockey League for their efforts against Queens last week, the organizations announced today.

Aiello was listed as Offensive Player of the Week, while Smith was named Defensive Player of the Week.

Aiello, a junior forward from Centereach, N.Y., helped lead the Crusaders to their first-ever win at Queens. She scored the opening goal just five minutes into the game and took a total of four shots on goal. This is the first Offensive Player of the Week honor for Aiello. Smith, a sophomore goalie from Carmel, Calif., allowed just two goals with five saves for a .714 save percentage. She was also AstroTurf Defensive Player of the Week after the first game of the season.

On the heels of the league announcement, the NFHCA tabbed the duo for their national awards for Division II.
