Shanika Peterkin of Barton and Brittany Autry of Belmont Abbey Earn Women’s Basketball Weekly Awards

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Shanika Peterkin of Barton and Brittany Autry of Belmont Abbey have collected the Conference Carolinas women’s basketball weekly awards.
 
Peterkin was named the Player of the Week for the second time this season, while Autry earned Defensive Player of the Week honors.
 
A senior center from Virginia Beach, Virginia, Peterkin averaged 15.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game in wins over Chowan and Emmanuel. Peterkin finished the week shooting 50 percent (10-of-20) from the field.
 
A senior center from Mineral Springs, North Carolina, Autry grabbed 12 defensive rebounds last week to go along with four blocked shots and three steals in a 2-0 week for Belmont Abbey. In the two wins, Autry averaged 11 points and 8.5 rebounds. She finished Belmont Abbey’s win over King on Saturday, Feb. 6 with a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
