Jharna Alston and Moena Battle of Emmanuel Earn Women’s Indoor Track & Field Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Jharna Alston and Moena Battle of Emmanuel have claimed the Conference Carolinas women’s indoor track & field weekly honors.
Alston was chosen as the Track Athlete of the Week, while Battle collected Field Athlete of the Week accolades.
A senior from Smyrna, Georgia, Alston finished first at the Brant Tolsma Invite at the Liberty Track Indoor Complex in Lynchburg, Virginia in the 200 meters with a new school record and lifetime personal record of 24.51. The mark is the best in Conference Carolinas this season and currently the fourth-best in the nation. She also claimed first place at the Brant Tolsma Invite in the 60 meters with a time of 7.74. It was just behind her time of 7.60, which is currently best in Conference Carolinas and eighth-best in the nation.
A senior from Atlanta, Battle took top honors in the high jump at the Brant Tolsma Invite with a mark of 1.62. Battle presently has the top mark in Conference Carolinas and one of the best in the nation with a mark of 1.65 at the UAB Vulcan Invitational.
