Shamaz Durrant of Emmanuel and Lucas Yearwood of North Greenville Collect Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Shamaz Durrant of Emmanuel and Lucas Yearwood of North Greenville have collected the Conference Carolinas weekly honors for men’s lacrosse.
Durant has been selected as the Offensive Player of the Week, while Yearwood has been tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week.
A junior out of Snellville, Georgia, Durant finished last week with an impressive 13 goals and two assists. He had eight goals in a win over Shorter earlier in the week before closing his week with three goals and two assists in a win over Mars Hill. He scored the game-winning goal in Emmanuel’s overtime victory over Mars Hill on Feb. 27.
A sophomore out of Mauldin, South Carolina, Yearwood picked up seven ground balls and caused five turnovers last week in North Greenville’s two games. Yearwood was especially strong in North Greenville’s win over nationally-ranked Catawba with the defender finishing his efforts with three caused turnovers and five ground balls. Yearwood also had two goals on the week.
