Reynolds, Wynn Earn NCATA Weekly recognition
BRISTOL, Tenn. – Catherine Reynolds of the King University acrobatics & tumbling team was selected National Collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling Association (NCATA) Athlete of the Week following her performance at Belmont Abbey College last week. Alexis Wynn also earned honorable mention Freshman of the Week.
Reynolds led King to their third straight win, topping Belmont Abbey College 265.590-255.935 last week. In the meet, Reynolds competed in 10 heats including the team event. She broke her own program-high in the tumbling open pass, scoring 9.900, which topped her previous mark of 9.875. Reynolds also helped King set season-high scores in compulsory toss, acro heat 1 and toss heat one. She also contributed to a tumbling even score of 53.750, which was the second-highest score in program history.
This marks the second time this season Reynolds has garnered NCATA Athlete of the Week honors with the last coming on February 18.
Wynn played a big role in King's win over Belmont Abbey, helping the Tornado to a pair of season-high scores. In the tumbling duo pass, she helped the Tornado to a season-high score of 9.000. She then matched her season-high in the six-element pass with a score of 9.275. Those scores helped King post their second-highest tumbling event score in program history.
Wynn earns honorable mention NCATA Freshman of the Week for the first time. She was named NCATA Freshman of the Week on February 18 and 25.
