BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Conference Carolinas added some more All-America honors in men’s swimming over the first couple of days of the 2021 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Swimming Diving Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex.

The first day on Wednesday was shortened due to inclement weather. Due to this, Thursday not only featured elite swimming, but also numerous finals.

The College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association (CSCAA) updated their All-America criteria for this year with those who finish first through eighth in an event a first team All-American and those who finish 9th-16th a second team All-American.

Enzo Kihara of Emmanuel picked up second team All-America honors in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a 12th-place finish (9:17.71). The time was a new school record.
Igor Bretas Dantas of Emmanuel also captured one of the top finishes and second team All-America honors with a time of 20.02 (15th) in the 50-yard freestyle. Dantas secured All-America honors in the 200-yard freestyle as well with a time of 1:37.66 (11th place).
