Belmont Abbey Closes Out Tremendous 2020-21 Season in Elite Eight

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Conference Carolinas regular season and tournament champion Belmont Abbey closed out its tremendous 2020-21 campaign in the NCAA Division II Elite Eight with a 65-42 loss to Central Missouri.
The loss snapped a 20-game winning streak for Belmont Abbey, who was competing in its first Elite Eight. Belmont Abbey closes the year with a 24-3 overall record.
Belmont Abbey was just the second Conference Carolinas women’s basketball program to advance to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight.
Conference Carolinas Tournament Most Valuable Player Brittany Autry led Belmont Abbey in the Elite Eight loss to Central Missouri with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Both Olivia Nelson and Brooke Littrell led Central Missouri in its win with 17 points each.
Belmont Abbey finished the game shooting 29.6 percent (16-of-54) as a team, while Central Missouri shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57).
