Conference Carolinas Unveils Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Monique Whiteman has been named the Conference Carolinas women’s outdoor track & field Track Athlete of the Week, while Mary Brigid Keck of Mount Olive and Zai Fraser of Lees-McRae shared the Field Athlete of the Week honors.

A freshman from Rangitikei, New Zealand, Whiteman posted the top time so far this season in Conference Carolinas in the 3000 Steeplechase at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational with a time of 12:08.68. She finished in second in the event at the invitational. The time is currently ninth-best in NCAA Division II.
 
A native of Newark, Ohio, Keck posted a school record in the discus with a mark of 43.45m. The mark is presently best in Conference Carolinas and 12th-best in all of NCAA Division II. The sophomore also posted a top-5 mark in Conference Carolinas in shot put at the event (11.19m).
 
A freshman from Pensacola, Florida, Fraser broke the Lees-McRae school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.62m. The mark leads Conference Carolinas and is 12th-best in all of NCAA Division II. She won the event the at the Lenoir-Rhyne Bears Open.
