South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Field Hockey Announces Major Award Winners

ROCK HILL, S.C. - South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announces its annual field hockey awards on Wednesday (Mar. 31). Limestone's Kelly Diplock for the second year in a row earned Offensive Player of the Year, Limestone’s Tereza Koprivova garnered Defensive Player of the Year, Newberry’s Lily Drury was named Freshman of the Year, and Limestone’s Jessica Mulhern was awarded the Coach of the Year award.
 

Diplock, a senior forward from Harare, Zimbabwe, is third in the conference in goals (4), fourth in points (8), and second in shots on goal (21). Diplock, the reigning conference offensive player of the year, also garnered South Atlantic Conference Carolinas AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week during the season.

Koprivova, a freshman goalie from Olesna,Czech Republic is fifth in the league for saves (17), is in a four way first-place tie for games started (5) and third in minutes played (301). She has allowed three goals against her on average and has .850 save percentage. Koprivova earned South Atlantic Conference Carolinas AstroTurf Defensive Player of the Week honors two times during the season as well as, NFHCA National Player of the week two times.

Drury, a freshman forward from Ballarat, Australia was one of the top offensive performers for the Newberry this year in goals (6), assists (2), and points (14). She ranks first in the conference in goals and in points and was awarded South Atlantic Conference Carolinas AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week honors once during the season while, also adding a NFHCA National Player of the week honor to her resume.

Mulhern led the saints to a 5-1 conference record this spring with her team ranking second in the league in goals with 12 and third in assists with six. She had three players earn player of the week honors as well as national honors during the 2021 spring season.
