Three From Conference Carolinas Earn USTFCCCA Southeast Region Awards

NEW ORLEANS – Conference Carolinas men’s and women’s indoor track & field collected numerous regional awards when they were officially announced by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday.
 
Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year Earl Graves received the same honor for the Southeast Region by the USTFCCCA. Graves recently led Mount Olive to its fifth straight Conference Carolinas Men’s Indoor Track & Field Championship title.
 
Jharna Alston of Emmanuel was selected as the Southeast Region Track Athlete of the Year.  The Conference Carolinas Women’s Indoor Track Athlete of the Year is ranked fourth nationally in the 200 at 24.26. She is also 14th nationally in the 60 at 7.60.
 
Conference Carolinas Women’s Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year Dr. Peter Ormsby was also selected as the Southeast Region Coach of the Year. UNC Pembroke won its first Conference Carolinas Women’s Indoor Track & Field team championship recently.
 
Award winners were determined by a vote of USTFCCCA member coaches. Only those individuals from USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.
