Marek Chlup of North Greenville Named NCBWA Southeast Region Player of the Week

WINGATE, N.C. - Marek Chlup of North Greenville has been chosen as the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) NCAA Division II Southeast Region Player of the Week.
 
A native of Český Dub in the Czech Republic, Chlup finished last week hitting .438 (7-of-16) with 13 RBIs and six runs scored. Chlup had six extra-base hits on four home runs, one triple and one double. In a win over Chowan on March 5, Chlup finished with three home runs. He hit two of the three home runs in the same inning.
 
On the year, Chlup is hitting .417 (20-of-48) with 20 RBIs and 13 runs scored. He is second in Conference Carolinas with seven home runs.
