Payton Whitley of Belmont Abbey and Hannah Houge of Erskine Pick Up Softball Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Payton Whitley of Belmont Abbey and Hannah Houge of Erskine have picked up the Conference Carolinas softball weekly awards.
Whitley was selected as the Player of the Week, while Houge was named Pitcher of the Week.
A junior from Albemarle, North Carolina, Whitley hit .429 (9-for-21) with four extra-base hits last week on two home runs, one double and one triple. Whitley scored nine runs on the week and collected six RBIs. Whitley had a slugging percentage of .857 last week.
A senior pitcher from Boiling Springs, South Carolina, Houge closed out the regular season last week by collecting 29 strikeouts last week. Houge pitched both games of a doubleheader sweep of Southern Wesleyan this past weekend that allowed Erskine to claim the Conference Carolinas regular season championship. Houge went 21-3 in the circle during the regular season.
