Mount Olive Captures Men's Tennis Championship
SUMTER, S.C. – Mount Olive knocked off Belmont Abbey, 4-1, in the 2021 Conference Carolinas Men’s Tennis Championship after both teams advanced after resuming semifinals action on Sunday morning at the Palmetto Tennis Complex.

Championship Match
Mount Olive opened the match taking the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 1 and 6-4 at No. 2.
Belmont Abbey’s Kai Lloveras picked up the win at the No. 6 position before Mount Olive took wins at No. 3 and No. 4. Mount Olive’s Guilherme Zotin De Oliveira battled back after dropping the first set, 4-6, at the No. 2 position to clinch the championship point with a 6-2 third set victory.
Semifinal Matches
Belmont Abbey 4, Emmanuel 0
Belmont Abbey took the doubles point with a pair of 6-3 victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions.
After picking up a quick win at No. 4 singles, Andres Golindano sealed the victory with a three-set win at No. 5 for the Crusaders and a spot in the finals.
Mount Olive 4, Barton 2
Barton earned the doubles point before play was halted on Saturday for inclement weather, winning 6-3 at No. 1 and 6-0 at No. 3.
Mount Olive started the comeback with a pair of wins at No. 1 and No. 2. Barton’s Matteo Savio pulled the Bulldogs even with a three-set victory at No. 4.
Greg Normand and Victor Nunez battled from opening set losses to win in the third set to send the Trojans into the finals.
