Power on Full Display on Second Day of Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship
WILSON, N.C. - The power was on full display on day two of the 2021 Conference Carolinas Baseball Championship as the teams combined for 17 home runs on a gusty day at Fleming Stadium.
#2 North Greenville and #7 King will now square off in a true elimination game in the first game on Friday at 11 a.m. #4 Belmont Abbey faces elimination as the Crusaders take on #1 Mount Olive at 3 p.m.
#5 Barton will face #3 Erskine in the nightcap of the winners' bracket on Friday at 7 p.m.

DOUBLE ELIMINATION GAMES
#4 Erskine 11, #3 Belmont Abbey 1 (Box Score)
Erskine's power was on display to open up the day with the Fleet blasting five home runs on their way to a 11-1 victory over Belmont Abbey to advance in the winners' bracket.
The Flying Fleet opened the scoring with a three-run first inning. Belmont Abbey's Ben Gobbel delivered a RBI double to plate a run for the Crusaders.
Erskine scored eight runs in the middle innings on four home runs, including two from All-Conference performer Drew Yniesta.
Allan Saathoff pitched 7.2 innings, allowing one hit with 11 strikeouts for Erskine.
#5 Barton 11, #2 North Greenville 9 (Box Score)
Brady Olson's two-run home run in the top of the eighth was the difference as Barton advanced in the winners' bracket with an 11-9 victory over North Greenville.
Both teams sent balls over the fence to combine for eight home runs. Barton's Dylan Scaranda started the home run parade with a two-run home run in the first inning. North Greenville's John Michael Faile hit a solo shot in the bottom half of the inning.
Scaranda hit a solo shot in the third inning before Douglas Angeli sparked a rally in the bottom of the third inning for NGU with a home run and Brady West's two-RBI double to take a 5-3 lead.
Barton's Travious Ford continued to see the ball well, blasting his fourth home run of the championship in the fourth inning to regain the lead 7-5. Ethan Stringer sent a two-run blast over the wall in left field in the sixth inning to give the Crusaders a 9-8 advantage.
Olson then hit the two-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give Barton an 11-9 lead it would never reliquish.
Michael Yuille tossed 3.1 of shutout ball in relief for Barton without surrendering a base runner.
#1 Mount Olive 13, #7 King 4 (Box Score)
Mount Olive used a pair of extra-base hits to start the scoring in the bottom of the second inning. The Trojans added a run in the third inning to lead 3-0.
King's bats came alive in the top of the fourth inning with three extra-base hits, including a two-run home run by Austin Meyer down the left field line to close the gap to 3-2.
Mount Olive created some space with seven runs on three home runs to lead 12-3 in the fifth inning. Vito Patierno hit his second home run of the game with a solo home run in the sixth inning.
