Barton and Belmont Abbey to Battle in Final of Spring Men’s Soccer Championship

FLORENCE, S.C. – Sixth-seeded Belmont Abbey will face off against second-seeded Barton in the final of the 2021 Conference Carolinas Spring Men’s Soccer Championship.
 
The final is scheduled for 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Florence Soccer Complex.
 
Belmont Abbey upset top-seeded Erskine on an Aaron Madison goal in the 68th minute. Maynor Figueroa assisted Madison on the goal that was the first given up by Erskine all season. Ben Knust was phenomenal between the pipes in the match, saving five shots to secure the clean sheet in Belmont Abbey’s 1-0 win over Erskine.
 
Barton advanced to the championship match with a 1-0 victory over Chowan. Omar Aboutaleb scored the game-winning goal for Barton in the ninth minute off an assist by Eve Luna-Arias. Jacob Randolph made five crucial saves to preserve the shutout win.
