Julie Ward and Georgia Davis of King Named Weekly Award Winners for Women’s Volleyball
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Julie Ward and Georgia Davis of King have earned the weekly honors for Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball.
Ward was chosen as the Player of the Week, while Davis collected Specialist of the Week honors.
A junior from Berthoud, Colorado, Ward finished her efforts last week averaging 5.71 digs, 4.43 kills and 0.71 blocks per set. Ward and King are presently in the midst of a 10-match winning streak, which is their longest since 2013. Ward posted a double-double with 27 digs and 22 kills in King’s win over Converse before adding 13 digs and nine kills in a sweep of Lees-McRae.
A junior from Leland, North Carolina, Davis picked up first career double-double in King’s 3-1 win at Converse with 27 assists and 10 digs. She added another double-double with 19 assists and 10 digs in the sweep over rival Lees-McRae. For the week, Davis averaged 6.57 assists, 2.86 digs, 0.71 blocks and 0.57 aces per set.
