Mount Olive Closes Strong 2021 Season in Opening Round of NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse South Regional

LAKELAND, Fla. – Third-seeded Mount Olive had its season come to a close in a tough 9-8 overtime loss to second-seeded Limestone in the opening round of the 2021 NCAA Division II Women’s Lacrosse South Regional.
 
The Conference Carolinas regular season and tournament champions, Mount Olive led 5-4 over Limestone at the halftime break. The Trojans were ahead by three at 8-5 with 18:14 left in regulation.
 
Limestone scored the final three goals of regulation to force the game into overtime. Julia Foster then scored her 38th goal of the season for Limestone with 5:03 left in overtime to secure the victory for the Saints.
 
Nola Wesche and Meaghan Michaud led Mount Olive with two goals each. Jackie Kaderabek had three assists for the Trojans. Goalie Ciara Moorman collected four ground balls, caused a turnover and made 10 saves for Mount Olive, while Bria Hamilton caused three turnovers and picked up three ground balls. Hamilton also had a goal and an assist.
 
Foster finished with three goals to lead Limestone.
 
Mount Olive ends its spectacular 2021 season with a 13-2 overall record.
