All-American Performances Highlight Final Day for Conference Carolinas at 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships
ALLENDALE, Mich. – Conference Carolinas closed out the 2021 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships with numerous All-American honors.
Emmanuel’s Jharna Alston just missed on a national championship in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. Just like she did at the 2021 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships, Alston claimed national runner-up honors in the 200 meters with a time of 23.38. She also finished as the national runner-up in the 100 meters with a time of 11.86.
Southern Wesleyan’s Jami Wright joined Alston as a first team All-American in the women’s 200 meters with a fifth-place time of 23.57. Wright also earned first team All-America accolades in the 400 meters with a fifth-place time of 54.49.
North Greenville’s Tevin Richardson captured first team All-America honors in the men’s 200 meters with a time of 20.82. The time was good for a third-place finish. Richardson also earned first team All-American honors in the 100 meters with a time of 10.40.
In the men’s 400 meters, Emmanuel’s Sulaimane Bangura earned first team All-America honors with a time of 47.61.
