Three From Conference Carolinas Tabbed to CoSIDA Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District®3 Teams

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Three Conference Carolinas student-athletes have been chosen to the 2020-21 Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-District® 3 Teams that are selected by CoSIDA. 
 
King’s Meg Davis and Katy Neubert were selected to the women’s team, while Brian Sims Jr. of Lees-McRae was tabbed to the men’s team.
 
A junior from Kingsport, Tennessee, Davis boasts a 3.89 grade-point average as an Elementary Education major with a concentration in ESL. Davis was a first-team all-conference performer this past season in cross country and in outdoor track & field. She won the 800 meters at the 2021 Conference Carolinas Outdoor Track & Field Championships with a personal-record time of 2:20.90.
 
A sophomore from Johnson City, Tennessee, Neubert also earned all-conference honors in both cross country and track & field. Neubert claimed top honors at the 2021 Conference Carolinas Indoor Track & Field Championship in the 800 meters with a time of 2:23.95. The Elite 23 Award Winner in Conference Carolinas for outdoor track & field, Neubert owns a 4.00 grade-point average as a Cell and Molecular Biology major.
 
A member of the Lees-McRae track & field and men’s basketball teams, Sims also owns a 4.00 grade-point average. The junior from Birmingham, Alabama collected all-conference honors in outdoor track & field.
 
As first-team Academic All-District® honorees, the trio now advances to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-August.
 
The CoSIDA Academic All-District® teams are divided into geographic districts across the United States and Canada. 
 
The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
