Nick Huenig of Francis Marion and Toby Sims of Chowan Pick Up Men’s Soccer Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. - Nick Huenig of Francis Marion and Toby Sims of Chowan have picked up the weekly honors for Conference Carolinas men’s soccer.
Huenig was selected as the Offensive Player of the Week, while Sims was tabbed as the Defensive Player of the Week.
A freshman from Lichtenberg, Germany, Huenig finished last week with two goals for Francis Marion. Huenig opened last week by scoring in Francis Marion’s 1-1 tie with Rollins. He ended his week by scoring the game-winning goal in the 78
th minute in Francis Marion’s 1-0 home win over King. The victory earned the conference newcomers their inaugural Conference Carolinas win.
A graduate student out of Tuxford, England, Sims continued his strong start to the fall of 2021 by scoring a goal while also helping to hold North Greenville to just two shots in Chowan’s 2-0 conference-opening home win over the Crusaders.
