GREENVILLE, S.C. – In its continuing efforts to provide unique opportunities for its coaches and administrators, Conference Carolinas kicked off its inaugural Coaches Academy on Sunday, Sept. 19.

The three-session Conference Carolinas Coaches Academy is a program that allows head and assistant coaches in the conference to gain valuable knowledge that can enhance their work individually and as a team. The program is funded through a joint effort between Conference Carolinas and its member institutions and is free to coaches in the conference.

The Coaches Academy is being run in cooperation with Dr. Drew Brannon and the team at AMPLOS. They are serving the coaches in Conference Carolinas through a truly holistic approach that can help with wellbeing and finding peak performance.

Topics in the three-session Coaches Academy will include creating a high-performance environment, establishing and maintaining a positive team culture and developing a growth mindset. The program combines leader training and leadership training.

The first session was held in person at the Conference Carolinas’ offices in Greenville, South Carolina on Sunday, Sept. 19.

“I want to commend Assistant Commissioner Jill Robbins for working to make this opportunity for our coaches in Conference Carolinas a reality,” Commissioner Chris Colvin said. “I have worked with Dr. Brannon during my time at Furman and as Director of Athletics at Nichols College. I know the work that he provides, and our coaches will be able to better serve their student-athletes and institutions through the efforts of AMPLOS as part of our Coaches Academy.”
