Brianna Warren and Katie Pressley of UNC Pembroke Collect Women’s Volleyball Weekly Honors
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Brianna Warren and Katie Pressley of UNC Pembroke picked up the latest Conference Carolinas women’s volleyball weekly honors.
Warren was chosen as the Player of the Week, while Pressley was tabbed as the Specialist of the Week.
A junior middle blocker from Indian Trail, North Carolina, Warren hit an impressive .516 last week while also averaging 2.92 kills and 1.08 blocks per set. In a perfect 3-0 week with all matches on the road for UNC Pembroke, Warren finished with 35 kills, 13 blocks, four digs, two assists and one service ace in the three wins. She hit a career-best .667 against Coker before following that up by hitting .520 in UNC Pembroke’s first women’s volleyball league win as a Conference Carolinas member against North Greenville on Sept. 16. She had 13 kills each in the wins over Coker and North Greenville.
A freshman setter from Indian Trail, North Carolina, Pressley averaged 9.00 assists per set in UNC Pembroke’s three wins last week. Pressley amassed 90 assists, 14 digs, nine kills, eight service aces and six block assists in the three matches that helped propel UNC Pembroke to a four-match winning streak overall. In the four-set victory at Coker, Pressley had a career-best 42 assists. She followed that up with 22 assists in the four-set conference win at North Greenville and 26 assists in the four-set victory at Fayetteville State.
