Mount Olive Sweeps South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Field Hockey Weekly Awards
ROCK HILL, S.C. – South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced its field hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the fourth weekend of the season. Mount Olives’s Morgan Paterson was named Offensive Player of the Week while teammate, Victoria Lane was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Paterson, a freshman from Vanderbijlpark, Gauteng, South Africa, helped lead the Trojans to a 2-0 record after facing Newberry and Coker this past week. Overall, she scored one goal, garnering two points with 10 shots on goal for a .100 shooting percentage. This is the first Offensive Player of the Week honor for Paterson.
Lane, a senior goalie from Louisa, Va., was an instrumental part in Mount Olive’s victories over conference opponents this past weekend. She allowed only one goal while making 15 saves for a .938 save percentage. This puts Lane at number one for total saves this season. This is the first Defensive Player of the Week award for Lane.
