South Atlantic Conference Carolinas Announces Field Hockey Players of the Week
ROCK HILL, S.C. - South Atlantic Conference Carolinas announced its Field Hockey Players of the Week for matches played during the first weekend of the season. Limestone's Gwendolyn Lewis was named Offensive Player of the Week while Converses' Ciriaca Petitto was named Defensive Player of the Week.
Lewis, a senior attacker from Chesapeake, Va., helped lead the Saints to their first conference win over Mount Olive this past weekend 5-1. She scored two goals, garnering four points with only three shots on goal for a .667 shooting percentage. This is the first Offensive Player of the Week honor for Lewis.
Petitto, a graduate student goalie from York Town, Va., allowed no goals in their first conference win over Mount Olive. She made two saves giving her a 1.000 save percentage in their 1-0 victory. This is the first Defensive Player of the Week award for Petitto.
