Rankings Update: Conference Carolinas Increases Presence in National Polls

GREENVILLE, S.C. – Several Conference Carolinas institutions improved their position across national and regional polls this week in basketball, men’s volleyball and swimming. 

The Women’s Basketball Coaches Association released the sixth Division II Top 25 regular-season poll of the 2021-22 season and Barton remained No. 23 with 94 points. In the Division II Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA) Women’s Basketball Poll Barton is fifth in the Southeast Region with 34 points just ahead of Mount Olive who is tied for sixth with 28 points. Chowan entered the poll for the first time and is tied for 10th with 3 points. The WBCA poll is available here while the D2SIDA polls are here.

In the latest edition of the National Association of Basketball Coaches Top 25 poll, UNC Pembroke climbed four spots to No. 19 with 107 points. In the men’s basketball D2SIDA Men’s Basketball Poll UNC Pembroke improved four spots to No. 16 with 143 points in the national rankings and was third in the Southeast Region with 48 points. The first Off the Block Division II Men’s Volleyball Coaches Poll was released this week and Mount Olive is ranked fifth with 30 points just ahead of Belmont Abbey who is sixth with 27 points. North Greenville and King are tied with Charleston for ninth with eight points while Erskine, Emmanuel and Barton all received votes. The full poll is available here

In the pool, the third regular-season College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) poll was released this week and Emmanuel is tied for 14th in the men’s poll with 67 points. The complete poll is available here
