Matteo Miselli and Matthew Maxwell of Belmont Abbey Named Men’s Volleyball Weekly Award Winners
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Matteo Miselli and Matthew Maxwell of Belmont Abbey have earned the weekly honors in Conference Carolinas men’s volleyball for the week ending Jan. 16.
Miselli was selected as the Player of the Week, while Maxwell earned Specialist of the Week accolades.
A junior outside hitter from Reggio Emilia, Italy, Miselli helped the Crusaders to a 3-0 start in 2022. He hit an impressive .421 over three matches with 32 kills, six aces, nine digs and four blocks. Miselli keyed a pair of wins over Long Island with team-highs in kills of 14 and 15, respectively. In the win on Jan. 11 he tallied five aces, which included four in a six serve stretch to rally BAC to a second set win.
Maxwell, the junior setter from Manahawkin, New Jersey, tallied 76 assists with 21 digs and four kills in eight sets on the week. He dished out 26 assists in the season-opening victory over Long Island and followed that with 32 assists and eight digs on Jan. 11. In the Crusaders' win over Carolina University he had 18 assists and nine digs.
