CJ McFerrin of North Greenville and Kevin Wood II of Emmanuel Named Men’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week
GREENVILLE, S.C. – CJ McFerrin of North Greenville and Kevin Wood II of Emmanuel were named Conference Carolinas Track and Field Athletes of the Week for men’s track and field for their performances in the week ending Jan. 16.
McFerrin was named Track Athlete of the Week while Wood II is the Field Athlete of the Week.
A freshman from Alpharetta, Georgia, McFerrin posted the top time in Conference Carolinas this season in the 60m hurdles as he finished third in the event at the Gamecock Opener with a time of 8.26. At the event hosted by the University of South Carolina, McFerrin also placed 19th in the 200m with a time of 22.63.
Wood II is a sophomore from Jefferson, Georgia and set an indoor Emmanual school record in the long jump with a mark of 6.80m (22-3.75) which placed him eighth in the event at the Gamecock Opener. His mark is also tied for first in the conference.
