Jharna Alston of Emmanuel and Olivia Huskey of North Greenville Chosen Weekly Award Winners for Women’s Indoor Track & Field
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Jharna Alston of Emmanuel and Olivia Huskey of North Greenville have been chosen as the weekly award winners for Conference Carolinas women's indoor track & field for the week ending Jan. 23.
Alston was selected as the Track Athlete of the Week, while Huskey garnered Field Athlete of the Week accolades.
A senior from Mobile, Alabama, Alston posted the top time in Conference Carolinas in the 60 meters with an NCAA provisional time of 7.65 at the KMS Invitational on Jan. 23. One day earlier at the Carolina Challenge, Alston posted a 7.88 in the 60 meters at the Carolina Challenge. She also posted a 24.39 in the 200 meters, which was the top time out of all of NCAA Division II competitors at the Division I event hosted by the University of South Carolina.
A sophomore from Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Huskey broke her own school record with an NCAA provisional mark of 1.67m (5-5.75) in the high jump at the Finn Pincus Invitational. The mark is the best in Conference Carolinas this season and one of the top 20 best marks in the high jump in NCAA Division II.
