Mount Olive Expected to Repeat as Women’s Lacrosse Champions in Preseason Poll
GREENVILLE, S.C. – The women’s lacrosse coaches have picked Mount Olive to repeat as conference champions in the Conference Carolinas preseason poll announced on Jan. 28.
The Trojans, which feature a pair of former Conference Carolinas Freshmen of the Year, collected 80 points and eight of 10 first-place votes while Belmont Abbey was selected second with 74 points and the remaining first-place nods. North Greenville was selected third with 63 points and Barton was fourth with 59 points.
Southern Wesleyan was fifth with 46 points followed by Lees-McRae (37), Chowan (33), Converse (27) and Emmanuel (17).
The regular season begins on Friday, Feb. 4 with the conference championship set to get underway on April 25. The semifinals and finals of the championship will be played on April 28 and April 30 at North Greenville in Tigerville, South Carolina.
