Belmont Abbey Picked to Win Men’s Tennis Championship

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Conference Carolinas men’s tennis head coaches voted on the 2022 Conference Carolinas Men’s Tennis Preseason Poll and Belmont Abbey was selected to repeat as regular-season champions.

The Crusaders, who shared the regular-season title in 2021, collected 90 points and three of 11 first-place votes while Barton and 2021 tournament champion and co-regular-season champion Mount Olive tied for second with 87 points. The Bulldogs earned five first-place votes while the Trojans collected the remaining three. Emmanuel rounds out the top four with 80 points. 

Francis Marion was picked fifth with 60 points followed by Converse (43), Southern Wesleyan (42), Lees-McRae (40), North Greenville (34), King (25) and Chowan (17).

The spring season gets underway on Friday, Jan. 28 with the conference championship set for April 29-May 1 at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, South Carolina.
