UNC Pembroke Women's Soccer Joins Top-25 to Highlight Conference Carolinas Rankings Update
GREENVILLE, S.C. – Conference Carolinas has had a successful start to the fall campaign with 10 teams ranked in their respective regional polls in the sports of men’s and women’s soccer and men’s and women’s cross country.
In the sixth edition of the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 NCAA Division II Women’s Soccer Poll, UNC Pembroke moved into the Top 25 for the first time this season at No. 24 with an 11-2-1 record. The Braves also moved up one spot to No. 3 in the Southeast Region while North Greenville joined the region ranks for the first time at No. 10 with a 10-2-1 record. On the men’s side of the pitch, Converse climbed three spots to fourth in the Southeast Region with a 10-1-2 overall record and an 8-0-1 league mark. North Greenville also moved up two sports to No. 8. The full rankings can be viewed here.
On the cross country course, four Conference Carolinas programs were ranked in the men’s United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Southeast Region rankings. Emmanuel led at wat at No. 5 while Belmont Abbey jumped into the poll for the first time at No. 7. UNC Pembroke slipped two spots to No. 8 while Lees-McRae fell one spot to ninth. UNC Pembroke was the lone women’s cross country team to make the USTFCCCA Southeast Region rankings as they remained seventh. The women’s national poll is here while the regional rankings are available
